The Bachelorette Season 19 has already been quite the historic season with two Bachelorettes leading at the helm. But that’s not the only major historical aspect of this season. Along with Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey being the first to lead a double Bachelorette season, this season has the most contestants the show has ever had.

When I look at the actual number, I’m not that surprised. I feel like there are usually around 30 or so men anyway, but I guess this season has managed to surpass it by just a couple of people. I know going into this season there were a lot of rumors that there’d be double the number of men to accommodate for the two Bachelorettes.

That is not what they did, and I’m not that surprised–how the heck would they handle that many contestants?! I think it’d be way too chaotic, and sure while there would be drama, it would be overwhelming to watch play out. Can you imagine?!

This season brought in 32 contestants, which again doesn’t seem that wild, right? Aren’t there usually around 30 or so anyway? I might be wrong so correct me if I am, but I don’t really get why 32 is being deemed such a high number. Plus, there are two women so a higher number of contestants is to be expected.

After The Bachelorette Season 19 premiere, there are now 29 men remaining. Gabby and Rachel made a collective decision to send three men home (Justin Y., Joey Y., and Roby) because they didn’t feel a connection with them. They ended up canceling the rose ceremony and decided that they were going to get to know the remaining men on a deeper level. They simply did not have enough time to talk to everyone so they wanted to be fair to all. Pretty noble, I’d say!

We’ll have to see how this season plays out, but I’m certainly looking forward to seeing how the remaining 29 contestants fare as they try to win over one of the two Bachelorettes. It won’t be easy, but we’re here for the chaos!
