We’re back! Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 19 kicked off the first double-Bachelorette season we’ve ever had (unless you count the single episode of Kaitlyn and Britt). So far, it’s unclear exactly how this season is going to work.

Monday’s premiere pretty much felt like a premiere of any other season, with a few small differences. We have a very good-looking (albeit way too young!) crop of men, two beautiful women, and plenty of roses to go around.

And with that, let’s get to the best and worst moments of Season 19, Episode 1!

The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 1: Worst moment: Three sad men

Rachel and Gabby/producers make the decision to basically skip the rose ceremony and only send three men home.

Seeing poor Joey and Justin (the twins), as well as Roby, pulled outside to be sent away really was the lowest point of the episode. I feel like this is one of the only times a set of twins hasn’t been kept beyond night one! I understand the “double date” was awkward, but that certainly wasn’t the twins’ fault!

I get that each season needs to “change it up” somehow, but this was simply unnecessary! How would you feel if you were one of these three men singled out? It’s hard to believe these were the ONLY three men with whom Gabby and Rachel did not see a future.

Also, this means we will still barely get to know any of the men next week because there are still too many of them. Too many, I say!

The Bachelorette Season 19, Episode 1: Best moment: Nick Viall look-alike

Erich! This guy was giving me SUCH Nick Viall vibes! I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this.

Well, Nick Viall with a mullet.

More than that, it was nice to see a contestant who had a seemingly strong connection with both Bachelorettes–could be trouble, but that’s what we’re here for!

Erich’s cuddle time on the couch with Gabby was some of the strongest chemistry of the night. I enjoyed their conversation about hair as well as their make-out session.

Later on, sparks were flying between Erich and Rachel as well during their geography-focused conversation which Rachel seemed to find hilarious. I’m very glad he didn’t kiss both Bachelorettes because I’m sure he would have been quickly criticized.

Cheers to you, Erich. May we admire your mullet for weeks to come.
