Does everyone remember the Bachelor in Paradise Corinne Olympios scandal? If not, let us be the first to rehash the wild events that took place back in 2017. Nearly five years ago to the day, things got very scandalous on the beaches of Paradise.

This event was so scandalous, in fact, that the series faced being canceled forever. Luckily, that is not what happened, but boy did it get close.

There was an alleged incident of “sexual misconduct” between contestants Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson. More specifically, it was alleged that Corinne was sexually assaulted while she was too drunk to consent. Those working on the show (I’m assuming those behind the camera) took notice of it, and that’s where things started to really unfold.

The infamous Bachelor in Paradise Corinne Olympios scandal

With reality television shows, there are always cameras rolling and so no one can really deny that something untowardly has happened. At some point, production continued but between the moment that the alleged assault happened and the two days after, a producer filed a complaint about this potential misconduct.

After this complaint was filed, the cast was placed under lockdown, taping was suspended, and everyone was sent to separate rooms and was watched very carefully by production.

Because of the nature of this Bachelor in Paradise Corinne Olympios scandal, everyone was sent home and an official investigation began. A lot of media frenzy took place in the days and weeks after, but ultimately no legal action was taken.

Olympios spent her time after the incident focusing on herself, especially because she found watching the footage back of her from that night was unsettling. She didn’t recognize herself and took this as an opportunity to work on things she wasn’t happy with.

Even though this incident took place a few years ago, Bachelor Nation will never forget the chaos that ensued in the days and weeks after. It was one of those moments that went down in Bachelor history as the most uncomfortable and unfortunate.
