Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya have broken up! I know, Bachelor Nation, I know. Be still our beating hearts. The rumors had been circulating for quite some time, but now the ex-couple have made it Instagram official.

On Friday, June 17, both Michelle and Nayte posted on their IG stories announcing that they have parted ways. It seems like the decision was very mutual and there is no bad blood between the two of them. In fact, in both of their stories, they were very loving and tender towards each other.

They also asked Bachelor Nation fans to be respectful of their privacy and understand that it will take time to process the breakup. I think the world forgets that even though these couples were formed in the public eye, they’re just regular people. They also nurse broken hearts and are privy to having time to themselves.

I’m very sad to hear about Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya’s breakup, and I think this one is going to hurt a bit more than the rest. They were just so adorable together!

Back in October 2021, Michelle and Nayte got together after her season on The Bachelorette. Things moved fairly quickly after that with their engagement and then Nayte’s subsequent move to Minneapolis, Michelle’s hometown.

During the After the Final Rose special, in fact, ABC gifted the couple a check to use towards the down payment on their home. I’m very curious to know if that check was contingent on how long the couple stays together. I believe the engagement ring has to be given back if the couple breaks up within two years of their season, so I’m guessing this is the case for the check they got as well.

Whatever the case is, my heart goes out to Michelle Young and Nayte Olukoya. I wish the best for them, and hope that they will be able to process this breakup soon!
