Nick Viall shares how The Bachelor changed his life
By Ariba Bhuvad
The year was 2014, and Andi Dorfman was getting ready to be the Bachelorette. Of the men vying for her love, there was one gentleman named Nick Viall. Of course, Bachelor Nation now considers him a huge part of the franchise as he’s made a cozy home for himself right at the center of it. In the last seven years, Nick Viall has solidified his presence through being a contestant, the lead, and showing up as a surprise “dramatic” guest. And let’s not forget his famous Bachelor Nation podcast, The Viall Files.
The man has been busy and taken full advantage of the benefits that come with being in this world. Apparently, it’s not all horrible if you know how to do it right, and Nick Viall, he’s definitely done something right.
He recently spoke with Variety about how his life has changed since entering the franchise as it gets ready to celebrate its 20th anniversary. One of the major things he shared was being in a position where he has succeeded when so many others have failed. It’s not easy to keep that fame alive, and Viall is the guy to go to if you are a Bachelor Nation alum looking to figure out what’s next.
Nick Viall shares advice for other Bachelor Nation alums
When asked whether or not this franchise has changed his life, Viall stated the obvious. Of course, it did! Why wouldn’t it?
"I get asked all the time how being on “The Bachelor” changed by life. Before I was on the show, I was content working in software sales in the Midwest. Now, I am a homeowner in Los Angeles, hosting my own podcast, developing others, writing books, hosting and acting. So yeah, I would say it’s changed my life. A lot.I often get asked for advice from alumni recently coming off the show, hoping to make something of their experience. Whatever their goals are — if they have any — I am quick to tell them it’s very important to understand what the show really gives you and what it costs you: What it gives you is access. Incredible access."
From working in software sales to attending the Oscars with his girlfriend Natalie–yes, we would agree life is nothing like once it was. Nick Viall is living his best life, as he should be.
I do like what’s he done with his fame following his time on the various Bachelor Nation shows. I think so many people opt to go down the dramatic road and try to gain followers by being the villain for years and years, or just try to go for it by effortless means. What Nick Viall has done is really change the game, and I think he should hold some type of Masterclass to help others follow his career path.
The recipe to his success is that while he’s very much a part of the franchise, he has set himself apart and started a career of his own. Nick Viall knew exactly how to structure his career so he could stand on his own two feet off the fame and spotlight he was in.
You gotta do what you gotta do, and I respect his hustle!
Speaking of which, keep an eye out for his book, Don’t Text Your Ex Happy Birthday: And Other Advice on Love, Sex, and Dating, which will release later this year in October.
