ABC took us all by surprise when they announced that The Bachelorette Season 19 will have not one, but TWO Bachelorettes–Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia. It’s going to be very interesting, to say the least. My only hope is that these two women are not pitted against each other. I don’t trust the production to be kind to them so I will prepare for the worst, but I am hoping for the best.

The best thing to come out of The Bachelor Season 26 was Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s friendship so we must protect them at all costs. Mike Fleiss, don’t screw this up–please!

It’s no secret that Gabby made a strong impression on all of us from the minute she stepped out of the limo to the last time we saw her, taking a stand for herself against Clayton. I thought she handled herself so well during Clayton’s ridiculous group breakup in the finale and I love that she walked right out of a bad situation. She was so inspirational at that moment and I know as a Bachelorette she is going to be even better.

But while we know who Gabby is in the world of The Bachelor, we still don’t know a ton about who she is as a person–and what she does for a living. Trust me when I tell you, if you didn’t love her enough already, then you are about to fall in love even harder after learning about her life.

What does Gabby Windey do for a living?

She is an ICU nurse. Yes, that’s right! Our goofy, silly Gabby is a healthcare worker who worked on the frontline during the COVID-19 pandemic. She went above and beyond to take care of those dealing with the virus during what was one of the most horrific times in our recent history.

Along with being a nurse, Gabby was also a Denver Broncos cheerleader for five years (she retired from that in April 2021). Last year, she was named the co-winner of the Pop Warner Humanitarian Award for all the work she did during the pandemic. She was actually the first woman and NFL cheerleader to get this honor which is ordinarily reserved for NFL players.

Our girl Gabby is a literal angel and queen!

With a heart of gold, Gabby is now looking ahead to the rest of her life as she begins the journey of being a Bachelorette alongside Rachel. And we will be rooting for her every step of the way!
