Part one of the most dramatic Bachelor finale ever aired last night, and it does indeed have all the makings of “most dramatic ever” material. There were tears. Betrayal. Rose denials. Rose acceptances. A family in shock. 1,000 professions of love.

Thank you, The Bachelor Season 26.

Let’s get to the best and worst moments of The Bachelor Season 26, Episode 11!

The Bachelor Season 26, Episode 11: Best moment: Clayton’s dad

I have never seen a Bachelor need help more than Clayton Echard does.

Thankfully, help arrived in the form of Clayton’s amazing family, spearheaded by his father.

Mr. Echard was the saving grace of Finale Part I. While Clayton’s mom just looked shocked most of the time, his dad seemed hilariously amused (and disappointed) by the situation.

Seriously, it seemed like he was trying not to laugh for the majority of the familial visit.

loved how the dad did not hesitate for one second to call Clayton out on getting himself in this rather unfortunate situation, even while talking to the women!

Best quote: “I would have wanted to smack him.”

I’m surprised he didn’t!

Relive the majesty of Clayton’s dad for yourself:

The Bachelor Season 26, Episode 11: Worst moment: Telling the women at the rose ceremony

In what world does it make sense for the relationships to have Clayton tell the girls together when they’re standing there waiting right before a rose ceremony?

I’m thinking about all the former leads who have told multiple contestants they loved them. Did Ben have to do this formal announcement? Did Arie? Did Kaitlyn?

I get that it’s possibly more dramatic this way, but I just found it awkward and pointless. I would have liked to have seen what would have happened if Clayton had told each woman individually.

Listening to the women’s sobs echoing off the walls while Clayton was forced to stand there staring into space was dramatic indeed, but not in a good way.
