The Bachelor Season 26 did hometowns this week, and they were actually rather sweet. For the first time, in a long time, we got to witness what an actual hometown date should look like. Sure, each family member/friend asked the lead or the contestant if they wanted to “step away for a chat”, but the chat themselves were great.

We witnessed a couple of beautiful moments including Gabby’s father surprising her from a distance. He couldn’t be there for the actual hometown date because his girlfriend has cancer and due to COVID-19, they had to keep their distance. But that didn’t stop him from showing up anyway and making sure Gabby knew he supported her and loved her.

Also, can we talk about Gabby’s adorable grandfather?! The guy was filled with jokes and so much love for his granddaughter that he wins the award for best human ever. Seriously, he was just so sweet! On the flip side, we had Rachel’s father who tried his best to intimidate Clayton Echard but eventually, he melted when he found out his daughter had nothing but good things to say about the lead.

All in all, it was a rather successful night, but it did result in one of the contestants going home. Was it Rachel, Gabby, Serene, or Susie? Look below to find out!

Who was sent home on The Bachelor last night?

All four women confessed to Clayton that they were falling in love with him, but unlike Ben Higgins, he somehow managed to keep his composure and not reciprocate to them or their family members. However, we know that is going to change by next week’s episode(s) because Clayton will not only tell more than one person he’s in love with them, but he will be intimate with them as well. Not a good look, Clayton!

But after all was said and done, it was Serene that was sent home at the end of the night. Compared to the other women, Clayton said he just didn’t have the same strong connection with her. I think that was a fair assessment but he did sort of kind of tell Serene that he had a strong connection with her.

I will say that while we have plenty to say about Clayton’s choices and decision-making, we are not in that moment and we can’t even begin to imagine what it must feel like–or the pressure involved. I can’t imagine it’s easy to tell anyone at this point in the game to go home, but alas, it is the way this franchise works.

So after this week, we’re left with Gabby, Rachel, and Susie. I am not sure how this season will end or who Clayton may or may not pick but we’ll have to tune in to see how it all plays out!
