Remember Cassie’s extensive skincare routine in Euphoria? Here’s how to get it on a budget
By Elaine Selna
During the third episode of the second season of HBO’s dramatic high school television show Euphoria, Cassie Howard—played by Sydney Sweeney—wakes up at 4 a.m. to do her skincare and beauty routine in the hopes of getting the attention of Nate Jacobs—played by Jacob Elordi.
This elaborate skincare ritual includes many steps, tools, and products. However, unlike the trending show, you might not have the same limitless budget, and according to the list by Pop Sugar of the products Cassie used, it can get expensive quickly. This is why we’ve picked affordable alternatives so you can stay within budget while still trying out Cassie’s extensive skincare routine.
1. Heatless Hair Ribbon Rollers
Because Cassie wakes up so early to get ready in the mornings, she has the luxury of time to curl her hair without using hot tools. Instead, Cassie uses 34- to 36-inch long ribbon rollers from the brand Heatless Hair for $48, which are a great way to get curls without damaging your hair, especially because they’re made of 100 percent silk. However, to keep this at an affordable price point, we’ve found an excellent alternative made of velvet that’s a third the price at $15.

2. Under Eye Mask Patches
To keep Cassie awake in the mornings, she uses Peter Thomas Roth’s Hydra-Gel Eye Patches which cost $52 a jar. Though they have amazing ingredients like niacinamide, cucumber, and aloe, the price isn’t spectacular. As an alternative, these Mizon Under Eye Collagen Patches have peptides, snail, and 24K gold to help dark circles and wrinkles for $16.

3. 3D Face Massager and T-Shaped Roller
A big trend that has come out in the past five years is the use of face rollers, and Cassie has many at her disposal. The first one she uses is a 3D Face Roller with a “V” shape so that it can contour your face. She also uses a T-Shaped electric face roller which can massage smaller spots like under the eyes. Cassie uses the $195 Jillian Dempsey Gold Sculpting Bar; however, you can get both these tools as a set for $19 and pocket the rest of the cash you saved.

4. Ice Roller
To promote blood circulation in the skin, many people use cold face rollers. Cassie opts to use an Ice Roller. All you have to do is place the roller head in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes and then put it back in the roller when you want to use it. Thankfully, this product is only $12 and is pretty much the best option as well, so there’s no better option than the one Cassie is using in the show.

5. Jade Gua Sha and Face Roller Tools
The last rolling and sculpting tools Cassie uses are the Mount Lai Jade Gua Sha and Face Roller. Gua Sha tools are designed to lift and firm the facial skin to help with lymphatic drainage, muscle tension, puffiness, and circulation. However, the Mount Lai Jade Gua Sha alone costs $26, while you can easily get a Jade Gua Sha and Face Roller set for $10.

6. Shea Body Lotion
After all those tools, it’s essential to keep your skin moisturized, and Cassie knows this too. In the show, she uses a 13-fluid ounce bottle of SheaMoisture’s Hydrating Body Lotion, made from shea butter and costs $8. Even though this is already pretty affordable, you can still get more product for even less. Nivea’s 16.9-fluid ounce bottle of Shea Daily Moisture Body Lotion only costs $5, or Palmer’s Shea Formula Raw Shea Hand and Body Lotion comes in a 33.8-fluid ounce bottle, which is almost three times the product Cassie has, for $12.

7. Reusable Face Mask
During the skincare routine, Cassie attaches a cloth face mask to her head. Though it might seem ominous in the show, it’s a reusable face mask which is a smart environmental and budget-friendly alternative to single-use ones. However, the one Cassie has, the Jenny Patinkin Reusable Sheet Mask, is $38. On Amazon, you can get a similar product from the Japanese brand Daiso that has better reviews for just $6.

8. Self-Tanner
To keep Cassie’s skin looking glowy and amazing, she uses the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Makeup self-tanner, which comes in a spray canister for about $9 in a variety of hues so you can look sun-kissed. Because this product is unique, well-rated at 4.1 stars with over 9000 reviews, and still relatively affordable, there isn’t a better option than the one that Cassie uses.
