We are sad to report that The Bachelorette alum Clint Arlis has passed away at the age of 34. Bachelor Nation fans will remember him as a contestant from Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season. He was the guy who became famous for using the phrase, “villains gotta vill”, and was one of the “bad guys” from the season.

It is with a heavy heart that many Bachelor Nation alums are mourning the death of the architectural engineer. His death was first announced by his high school wrestling coach, Scott Bayer, who guided him during his time on the Batavia High School wrestling team.

He took to Twitter with a heartbreaking post in honor of Arlis:

Fellow Bachelorette contestant, Nick Viall, also shared his condolences on social media. The two of them competed for Bristowe’s love in 2015 during The Bachelorette, and Viall got the chance to know him on a personal level during that time.

Clint was sent home by Bristowe in the third week, who formed a bromance with contestant JJ Lane during his time on the show.

How did Clint Arlis pass away?

The cause of death is unknown at this time, according to official sources. It’s a very tragic and devastating loss for his family and friends, and our hearts go out to all those he loved and had an impact on.

Along with studying architecture, Clint also studied civil and environmental engineering at the University of Illinois, where he got both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, according to PEOPLE

Since then, he worked as a project manager at a company called Lendlease and also spent time volunteering as a mentor to Chicago school kids.

Clint’s death is a major loss to Bachelor Nation, and we are thinking of him and his family during this time.

Sending our condolences to Clint’s family and friends.

R.I.P Clint Arlis–we’re thinking of you and your loved ones today.
