We’re back to another journey to find true love, Bachelor Nation! It’s been less than two weeks since The Bachelorette season 18 ended with a heartfelt engagement and lead Michelle Young walking away hand and hand with her fiancé Nayte Olukoya. Now, we’re onto the next installment of the reality franchise, following Clayton Echard on The Bachelor season 26.

In case you missed it, Clayton competed on Michelle’s season of The Bachelorette and was eliminated in week 6. His season of The Bachelor is different in a few ways, with one being that he was announced as the lead before his season of The Bachelorette even ended.

Another reason Clayton’s journey is a bit of an unconditional one is that, as was teased in the trailers, he was denied when giving out his first rose. This must be a first for the franchise, and we got to see during the season premiere tonight exactly what went down.

Does Salley get the First Impression Rose on The Bachelor?

Before the limo entrances, Clayton got to meet one of his contestants early because she decided she wanted to go home but needed to talk to Clayton first. As we learned in the intros for some of the contestants, Salley Carson was actually recently engaged and on the day of the limo entrances, she was set to be married. That’s what the Salley and the producers told us, anyway.

Salley clearly wasn’t ready for another relationship so soon after her failed engagement, so she turned down Clayton’s rose and went home.

Clayton was disappointed he was rejected, but he got over it pretty quickly. We got to see the limo entrances right after, and he was seriously charmed by the beautiful ladies competing for his love. How couldn’t he be?!

So who did receive the First Impression Rose? Find out down below!

Who did Clayton give his First Impression Rose to?

By the end of the cocktail party after the limo entrances, Clayton decided to give his First Impression Rose to Teddi Wright, a 25-year-old from Highland, California. As we’ve previously reported, this gorgeous contestant has an impressive career as a surgical unit nurse. Viewers will remember that early on in the episode, Teddi revealed she was a virgin but would go to Fantasy Suites with Clayton if she made it that far.

If you’ve been keeping up with The Bachelor spoilers, you’ve likely known for months now that Teddi would receive the First Impression Rose. Reality Steve tweeted out the gossip back in Oct. 2021, revealing a bunch of spoilers while Michelle’s season was airing.
