John Hersey: Here’s what we know about former Bachelorette Katie Thurston’s new man

John Hersey has been the talk of Bachelor Nation over the last couple of weeks, and he has his newly public relationship with former Bachelorette Katie Thurston to thank for that. It’s been a whirlwind, to say the least, considering Katie and her ex Blake Moynes had just broken off their engagement, but from what we’ve seen so far, the couple looks very happy together.

We first met John during Katie’s season of The Bachelorette on which he only lasted two weeks. Of all the contestants I would have imagined Katie being with, I did not see John Hersey on that list. Of course, her season was a bit on the wild side and unpredictable, and what we did see coming was her and Blake’s inevitable break-up. They didn’t make sense from the get-go and it felt as if she just chose him for the sake of choosing him.

In the months after, we did see John pop up on Katie’s social media, but it was always portrayed from a friendly perspective. That has changed dramatically of course, and while it has been the gossip of Bachelor Nation, this couple is going strong against all the hate.

Who is John Hersey?

Based on his social media, John seems like a great, kind-hearted guy. He’s fun, playful, and is in fact, getting his pilot’s license. Pilot John, dare we say?

In the days since Katie and John have gone public, they have faced a lot of hate. People have attacked them and implied Katie cheated on Blake with John, etc. It’s unclear the timeline of how it all played out, and while the timing is suspect, I think we are not in the place to judge what is going on, especially being on the outside of the situation.

We have no idea how things went down, but for now, John Hersey and Katie Thurston look happy, so who are we to get in the way of love? (We hope you’re doing okay, Blake!).
