It was hometown week on The Bachelorette Season 18, but unfortunately, we still can’t have real hometowns. This is usually one of the best weeks of the season in my opinion, but it’s not quite the same when it all has to take place in Minneapolis. At least Joe got a true hometown!
Thankfully, the men delivered in terms of adorable emotional moments, which is really what hometown week is about.
Side note: I also love how Michelle speaks about the men as if they’re her students, like when she said “Joe took some really large steps forward” learning how to be vulnerable. Lol. Always a teacher!
Now, let’s get to the best and worst moments of The Bachelorette Season 18, Episode 7!
The Bachelorette Season 18, Episode 7: Best moment: Brandon’s hometown
Brandon got SO excited about introducing Michelle to his family, especially when he found out his brother delayed the Navy so he could be there in Minneapolis! I can’t imagine how he convinced the Navy into agreeing to that.
Golden quote: “He’s willing to tell the U.S military ‘hold up, I gotta go meet Michelle real quick.’”
If that doesn’t put pressure on her to pick Brandon, I don’t know what will!
Ahhhh this hometown was just too adorable. When Brandon said he really, really, “as a human being,” wants it to be him at the end, I couldn’t even speak. Too cute.
The Bachelorette Season 18, Episode 7: Worst moment: Rodney’s hometown
I can’t handle hometowns that feature a contestant who you know for sure is going home. It’s just so uncomfortable to watch!
I kind of wish the show would let Michelle (or whoever the lead is that season) eliminate extra people and just have three for hometowns and two for fantasy suites. There’s always one that everyone knows is a goner, and it just makes the whole date sad, boring, and futile.
Rodney’s mom knew– she was deeply skeptical, frankly terrified, and for good reason! Gotta love a realistic mother!
Goodbye, Rodney. You will be missed!
