The Bachelor: Clayton Echard is officially the Season 26 lead!
By Ariba Bhuvad
Clayton Echard has officially been announced as the next Bachelor! This announcement has been a long time coming as rumors about Echard being the next leading man started before he was seen as a contestant on Michelle Young’s season of The Bachelorette.
During last week’s episode, Clayton Echard had a devastatingly heartbreaking goodbye, and it was obvious at that moment why he was chosen to be the next Bachelor. Up until then, I’ll admit I didn’t really see the appeal because the producers went out of their way to make him seem like he had no personality.
But that has changed, and now most of Bachelor Nation is on board with Clayton as the next leading man. I think he’s going to melt some hearts and make us fall in love with him! All I ask is that we get an exciting and honest season and nothing like we’ve seen the last two years from this franchise.
Clayton Echard is our next Bachelor!
Back in September, images of Clayton recording Bachelor promos were leaked, and the world came to find out that the next Bachelor would be someone we had never met before. It was an interesting and bold choice, but I think we needed someone like this. This franchise has struggled with their leading ladies and men so I think Clayton was a great choice–we needed someone we just didn’t know!
Clayton’s season of The Bachelor will premiere on January 3 and will mark the 20th anniversary of the flagship show. It’s the 26th season, ya’ll, if you can believe it.
It’s also the first season of The Bachelor that will be hosted without Chris Harrison. But if you’re thinking it’s going to be Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe again, then let me be the first to tell you, it won’t be!
Instead of the dynamic duo, hosting duties will be handed over to Jesse Palmer, the franchise’s fifth Bachelor. I’m actually looking forward to this switcharoo, and I’m excited to see how he handles being a host.
It’s safe to say that we have a lot to look forward to in the coming months, and we won’t have to wait very long before getting to see how Clayton Echard does as the new Bachelor. Mark your calendars for Monday, January 3 (yes, Bachelor Mondays are back!)–it’s going to be a great season!
Yay for Clayton Echard!
