Rose lovers, I’ve lost count of the number of times I screamed at my television while watching this week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 18. The group dates have continued to be just terrible, a new villain has emerged (keeping up with the one villain an episode narrative) and there is drama all around.

And on that note…

Here are the most cringeworthy moments from The Bachelorette Season 18, Episode 5!

The Bachelorette Season 18, Episode 5: Moment #1: Michelle Takes Joe To Her High School

Michelle Young and the men of The Bachelorette Season 18 have arrived in her hometown of Minnesota, promising a week of super emotional dates. Now the first one-on-one was great, and Michelle took Joe on a trip into their own hometown, where they had some important conversations that made me quite teary.

The only detail I am unable to move past is that Michelle also took Joe back to her high school–where she studied. She showed her school off to Joe and took him around to see her locker and trophies. And then, the Bachelorettealso informed Joe that he reminded her of her brother and her dad…because they have a reserved personality too.

Why would anyone say that to their date–who they potentially want to marry? It’s beyond me!

The Bachelorette Season 18, Episode 5: Moment #2: The Vikings Theme Group Date

The group date saw eight men follow Michelle Young to the U.S. Bank Stadium, only to learn that they weren’t on a football-themed date. They were about to participate in a competition to be the true Viking. They were made to yell war cries, don Viking gear and eat fermented herring and “Viking’s Head Hash,” served on a platter containing cow brains, tongue, cheek, and stuff.

My only question is: Dear Michelle, how is seeing your boyfriend(s) eat raw fish making small moments with them? Now Chris. S might be a real villain all right, but at least he calls it like it is: A nasty group date idea.

The Bachelorette Season 18, Episode 5: Moment #3: Bye Bye, Chris S.

Chris S. has a huge problem with Nayte–and the confidence he has in his relationship with Michelle. So not only does he go out of his way to ruin a cocktail party for the other men of the house, but he also employs ideas that can cause no good and only sabotage the chance he has with Michelle, which is already hanging by a thread.

After ignoring the Bachelorette repeatedly, smacking his lips, and murmuring “Wow” to himself, every time that Michelle didn’t throw herself at his feet on the group date, he decided it was time to question her decision and say he was being “played” to Michelle during her one-on-one date with Nayte!

His audacity is beyond me, as is his courage to walk up to Michelle while she’s on a date, and bad mouth the dude she is a second away from giving a rose to. I’m so glad to see him gone–your guidance is not needed this season, not ever, Chris!
