Last week, during a commercial break for Bachelor in Paradise Season 7, we got a glimpse of The Bachelorette promo for Season 18, starring Michelle Young.

The set was stunning. The dress was stunning. She was stunning. Needless to say, Bachelor Nation is hyped. But it sparked some jokes about the disparity between Michelle’s promo and the promo for our most recent Bachelorette, Katie Thurston.

Many fans feel like Katie’s was pretty lackluster in comparison, and Katie even poked fun at the difference on Twitter. Check it out below!

After all this, I started to wonder how past seasons stacked up. Do I have any experience making commercials for primetime television? Nope, but I have lots of experience watching The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, and I know which trailers catch my attention and which don’t.

Today, I’m ranking every The Bachelorette promo I could find from worst to best. Don’t forget to share your own thoughts in the comments!

9. The Bachelorette Season 17: Katie Thurston

No offense to Katie, but hers really is the worst. I feel like nobody involved knew exactly what they were going for.

Katie’s just posing on random props in a white room and not looking very comfortable doing it. The purple dress is pretty, but girlish in a way that doesn’t fit her personality. The song is boring and awkwardly spliced with clips from The Bachelor Season 25. And the “Be a Katie” shirt is a bit cringeworthy, but if their angle was to present Katie as a role model, they should’ve run with it more. At least it would be a concept.

Overall, this promo feels cheap, confused, and low-effort. I’m giving it a 2/10 because Katie does look beautiful and it’s not totally incompetent – but pretty close.

8. The Bachelorette Season 14: Becca Kufrin

Like Katie’s, Becca’s Bachelorette promo is just sort of bland and awkward. It is better, though, because it concisely tells Becca’s story with Arie Luyendyk, Jr., the song is catchier, and her rose-gold dress is fire. I just wish they could’ve given Becca more to do than shimmy and fake-laugh.

This gets a 3/10 for being a bit lame but a step above Katie’s.

JoJo's back and she is fierce! Get ready for this bombshell.

7. The Bachelorette Season 12: JoJo Fletcher

This trailer is pretty standard. It shows us JoJo’s heartbreak on The Bachelor Season 20 and foreshadows some juicy drama on her season of The Bachelorette. I do wish they had shown less of the men talking about how hot she is and focused more on, I don’t know, her personality?

Still, JoJo’s promo is fine if not groundbreaking. I’m giving it a 5/10.
