The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 10: Moment #4: Katie gaslights Greg

It became devastatingly hard to support Katie after her gaslighting shenanigans on The Bachelorette Season 17 finale. Hosts Kaitlyn and Tayshia had a mature conversation with Greg, who didn’t harbor any ill feelings for Katie and wanted to wish her the best. You think it’s going to go really well since Blake and Katie are now engaged and it has been MONTHS since filming ended…

But no. Katie woke up and chose violence today, and rattled off on a list of accusations against Greg the minute she sat down next to him. She said he spoke down to her, was looking for an opportunity to escape, never wanted to actually get engaged, doesn’t know what love is, and was “using” her for the “experience” and “exposure”.

Greg is shocked to his core but tries to laugh it off, remaining faithful to his choice of being emotionally mature for the evening. Katie goes on to deliver another ruthless blow, and said his “acting” was “pretty good, up until the end when you kinda f—ed it up and ran away.”

Why is Katie doing this? No one knows. She eventually accuses him of “gaslighting” her and then delivers a very WRONG definition of the term when asked by Kaitlyn. She clearly doesn’t understand the degree of seriousness the word is attached to and throws it around carelessly.

Greg apologizes repeatedly, and accepts that his emotions were at an all-time high, but meh. Katie doesn’t care. Listen: you can hate Greg all you want, but you’ve got to admit that Katie took it too far, and that isn’t something he deserved.

The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 10: Moment #5: Blake wants to memorize Katie

I just have one question: when are contestants going to take accountability for things they have never done? At the end of the episode, Blake and Katie danced to Laine Hardy’s Memorize You, a song they previously danced to on their one-on-one date.

The producers get members from the studio audience to wave and hold out boomboxes, and Katie just presumed Blake came up with the amazing gesture of love. He doesn’t say anything. Just takes the credit. So was it really his idea or….?

The Bachelorette Season 17 finale was three hours long and no one should have to sit through any reality television episode for that long. Now that The Bachelorette is over, there’s only one thing left to say…
