The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 10 recap: Katie’s happily ever after
This week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17 started with Katie Thurston reliving Greg leaving last week. Even though she felt heartbroken, Katie decided to stay and spend individual time with Blake and Justin. Her first date was with Blake. They threw paint-filled water balloons at each other much like the scene in 10 Things I Hate About You.
Katie opened up to Blake and told him about how Michael and Greg both left. Blake felt unsure about his relationship with Katie after hearing that she was ready to go after Greg left her. But in the evening, he gave a long speech and announced his love for Katie. Blake felt excited about a life with her. Katie then shockingly said she loved Blake too! It was no surprise when they chose to spend the night together in the fantasy suite.
Katie met with Justin the next day and told Justin that she was falling in love with Blake. She decided not to spend time with Justin, and they parted ways. It was an emotional goodbye, but Katie was ready to continue her time with only Blake.
Blake was nervous meeting Katie’s family since he knew he was the only one left. He met Katie’s mom and Aunt Lindsey. Katie’s mom was emotional and excited, but Aunt Lindsey was more brutal to win over. Lindsey was skeptical about how they would feel after the show and how they would make it work. Her questions made Blake question how their relationship would be after the show.
But Blake still picked out a ring the next day and prepared to propose to Katie. After very heartwarming speeches, Blake proposed to Katie, who gladly accepted.
After the proposal, the show jumped to the After the Final Rose. Kaitlyn brought Greg out for the first time since his departure. Greg had no regrets, and Katie was distraught by what Greg said. She didn’t think he was ever ready for an engagement and was trying to find a way to leave. They had a heated conversation but ended by saying they wished nothing but the best for each other.
Then lastly, we finally saw Blake and Katie together. They were excited not to keep their engagement private anymore. The couple shared an emotional dance to their special song.
And just like that, it’s a wrap on The Bachelorette Season 17–tune in for the return of Bachelor in Paradise next week!
