Talk about a dramatic episode of The Bachelorette season 17! Katie Thurston‘s journey to finding true love is officially coming to an end next week, and that means the finale is bound to bring tears of both sadness and joy. Get your popcorn popped, because next week’s episode is three hours long! But as we wait to see how it all comes to an end, let’s discuss what went down in tonight’s episode.

Tonight marked hometowns for

The Bachelorette

season 17, and Katie got to meet family members and friends of

Blake Moynes

, Justin Glaze, and

Greg Grippo

. Each date was definitely different and viewers could easily tell who Katie had formed closer connections with. Though Justin is a fun-loving sweetheart, his parents unfortunately could not attend and it seemed as though he and Katie just weren’t ready for an engagement.

For Blake and Greg, on the other hand, Katie got along with their family members super well and it was easy to see the love between them. Especially for Greg, who teared up while being with his family, hometowns really meant a lot to these guys.

But despite how special it was to see their loved ones, it didn’t change the fact that Greg was going through an extremely difficult time, tonight’s episode especially. After hometowns, he broke down while speaking about his late dad and professing his true feelings for Katie. For her part, Katie made it clear that she didn’t want to tell anyone she was in love until she was down to one man. And not hearing those three words was really hard for Greg.

“I just don’t understand how you don’t get it at this point,” Greg told Katie, meaning he didn’t understand how she hadn’t decided between the remaining contestants yet. It was really heartbreaking to watch, and fans at home were waiting for Greg to break and just self-eliminate.

Who was eliminated on The Bachelorette this week?

Although Greg was a complete mess this episode — understandably so — it’s not confirmed whether or not he actually went home. He and Katie got into an argument which concluded with both of them storming off. There was no rose ceremony tonight as the episode ended on a cliffhanger, and fans will have to wait and see what happens next between Greg and Katie during the finale next week.

Do you think Greg will self-eliminate in the finale? Has he already gone home? Only one way to find out.
