If you’re a fan of The Bachelor, you fall into one of two distinct tribes: spoiled or unspoiled.

Spoilers have been a part of the Bachelor Nation experience for over a decade, ever since blogger Reality Steve revealed the ending of The Bachelor Season 13. Even when Reality Steve’s all-seeing eye fails, dedicated fans sometimes guess who got the final rose by hunting through public Venmo, Instagram, and Spotify activity.

The trouble is, spoilers can be hard to avoid, meaning that within the spoiled group, there are two more groups: willingly spoiled versus unwillingly spoiled. And then there’s an in-between group: not-technically-spoiled-but-might-as-well-be. These are the viewers who haven’t actually seen a spoiler, but they feel like they have because of the not-so-subtle behavior from other fans. (That’s where I am for Katie’s season.)

I’ve been in all these groups throughout my time in Bachelor Nation, so I think I have a pretty good idea of the pros and cons. Are you a new fan who wants to have the best viewing experience? A veteran un/spoiled watcher thinking of trying out the other side? Do you have a decided preference but want to know why someone would watch a different way?

Whichever tribe you’re a part of, let’s jump in and determine which is really the best way to watch The Bachelor.
