If drama, heartbreak, and man tears are what you like then Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17 was the one for you!
As we hit the halfway point of the season, it was time for our Bachelorette Katie Thurston, to make some hard, drastic decisions in who will make it to hometowns. Not one, not two, but FIVE gentlemen were released back into the dating world and made their resort exits.
So with all the cuts, who made it into our power rankings of this week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17?
The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 6 power rankings
#1: Blake
The newcomer who is quickly becoming our girl’s favorite after making some fast moves following a rough breakup takes the top spot this week. Yes, it’s Say Anything wannabe, Blake.
Katie was casually crying her eyes out after emotionally destroying Connor B. and sending him home when she heard faint music outside of her window. Who should appear with a boombox in hand playing their date song? A savage Blake who barely let Connor say his goodbyes before swooping in to comfort our Bachelorette. Can you not give her a second to mourn this breakup, Blake?!
Luckily, Katie loved this move and proceeded to jump Blake’s bones and make out with him for the next several hours despite her mascara tear-soaked face and less than glamorous outfit. (Girl, you looked cute. It’s not like you were rocking baggy old sweatpants with an ice cream spoon in your mouth.) These two clearly have some major chemistry and I honestly think Blake will make it into the top two. Sometimes bold moves pay off!
#2: Connor B.
The math teacher cat with the broken heart of gold takes second place in our rankings. House favorite and Greg’s BFF, Connor, snags the spot even though he did not snag Katie’s heart.
After a very normal, real-world one-on-one day date with Kaitlyn & her fiance Jason Tartick, Connor thought things were going super well as he prepped for the emotional chats that are guaranteed to happen in the evening portion of these dates. And then we saw Katie sporting some jeans and a hoodie and Bachelor Nation knew something was up.
Connor opened the door and immediately knew what was coming. It’s not like Katie’s tears didn’t give it away TBH. The breakup was very hard to watch and Connor handled it insanely well. A true man as Katie called him. Once she departed, in an unprecedented move Connor made his way back to the dudes in the house to say his goodbyes to the groups.
The tears started flowing from literally everyone and it’s safe to say this breakup was more heartfelt than the one he experienced a few moments before. The guy gang is strong this season and I’m loving the vibes they are putting out. Connor, you sweet kitty cat, you will be missed.
#3: Justin
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, one-on-one dates are typically good signs, and snagging that rose on those dates mean GREAT things for the recipient. “Amazing Facial Expressions” Justin takes the third spot this week.
Typically on a first date, you try to do something fun and lighthearted to get to know your potential future mate. But not in Bachelor-land! Katie was tired of messing around and gave Justin a full-on fake wedding with vows, wardrobe, cake, and resident Bachelor franchise photographer, Franco, to test his investment in this whole thing. Imagine writing vows to someone you have spent approximately two hours with half of that involving other guys?!? Awkward.
Justin took it all in stride and handled it like a champ even though his vows were pretty standard stuff. That night Katie got emotional discussing not having her father around for her someday real-life wedding and Justin was incredibly supportive and ready to be there for her. Katie swooned over this and sealed her appreciation with a kiss and the date rose. Personally, I’m getting friend vibes from this pair, but Justin seems like a good dude and I’m happy we got to see more of his face on-screen.
With one week until hometowns, next week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17 looks to be full of more breakups, more tears, and not surprisingly at all, more lip-locking all around
See who makes it to the top four and who slides into our top three!
