It was another tear-filled week on Monday night’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17!
This week on The Bachelorette Season 17 a fan favorite had to go home, a Say Anything musical moment took place, and there was some seriously forced Hunter drama. Oh, and let’s not forget, five contestants in total were eliminated from the running.
It really narrowed down the number of men left for Katie, which means hometowns, fantasy suites, and the grand finale are just around the corner! I know, already, right?!
There’s a lot to discuss so let’s get right into the best and worst moments of this week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17!
The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 6: Worst moment: Height jokes
It’s always fun when The Bachelorette gets some great guest stars, and Monday night’s appearance of Monét X Change and Shea Couleé from RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars was no exception, even if they did seem a little out of place since the activity didn’t have much to do with performing.
However, as great as they were at getting the men riled up at each other (or at least trying), one moment stood out as pretty cringeworthy.
One of the queens made a joke about Hunter’s height, saying “I heard you have to be this tall to ride the ride” and “Did your mom give you permission to be here?”
All in good fun obviously. And Hunter took it pretty well. But IMO, making fun of a man’s height, especially in the Bachelor world when they’re on national television surrounded by a ton of 6 foot something behemoths, is a little below the belt. Poor Hunter. He had a rough week.
In any case, how was this a debate? I didn’t really understand this activity at all. Maybe I’m missing something!
The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 6: Best moment: Connor’s exit
The precious bro bonding never ends! I don’t think we’ve ever seen such a tearful reaction to someone going home. I feel bad calling this the “best moment,” but it was too emotional to pass up.
The collective sigh that went around the room when Connor walked in crying was so sad. Most of them were crying as well! Tre called it “heartbreaking,” Aaron said “I want to be more like you” and Connor told them he was going to miss them all a lot!
It was nice to see a contestant actually be allowed to come back and say goodbye instead of just being stuffed into a car and carted off. This show is becoming so human!
Goodbye, Connor. See you in Paradise. Luckily cats always land on their feet!
