[SPOILERS]: Joe Amabile’s ex shows up on Bachelor in Paradise and it’s awkward
By Ruby Maxwell
Disclaimer: Major Bachelor in Paradise SPOILERS ahead!
Joe Amabile is part of the newly-announced Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 cast, three years after falling for Kendall Long on the show’s fifth season. Although their relationship fizzled out about a year after they met, spoilers reveal “Grocery Store Joe” will come face-to-face with his ex at some point after the August 16 premiere.
Could we see Joe involved in a love triangle in Paradise? Will he get back together with Kendall? Or is there a new girl on the horizon for the 34-year-old Chicago native? I certainly want to see the produce guy meet the girl of his dreams, but I’m sensing he will have to muddle through some drama before he makes a solid love connection.
Joe was a fan-favorite on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette. Although he was sent home during the first week, Bachelor Nation made it clear they wanted him back on TV. It’s normally tough to remember anyone’s name during the first few weeks of the show, but Joe’s 1000 kilowatt smile and sweet demeanor won producers over.
The grocery store owner not only scored a spot on the fifth season of Paradise in 2018, but he also joined Dancing with the Stars the same year. Unfortunately, he failed to win the Mirror Ball trophy and, months later, was single once again after the couple announced their breakup.
[SPOILERS]: Joe returns to Bachelor in Paradise to find a new romance
According to blogger Reality Steve, Kendall will not show up until after the first episode of Paradise, so any connection Joe makes early on may create some drama when his ex walks onto the beach.
Joe reportedly gives multiple roses to Serena Pitt (Matt James’ season). When Kendall arrives, she spends time with contestant Ivan Hall, who vied for Tayshia Adams’ heart on The Bachelorette.
Despite trying to make a new connection, Kendall finds it difficult to watch Joe’s budding romance.
“Kendall Long had a tough time watching Joe’s relationship and ended up leaving the show,” Reality Steve writes.
The reunion sounds like it was not a sweet one for the former couple. However, there is some good news for all of us who are rooting for Joe to find love in the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise.
Steve’s spoilers, which are typically solid when it comes to Bachelor in Paradise, point to three couples getting engaged on the show, including Joe and Serena.
Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 premieres on ABC on August 16 at 8 PM EST!
