A new man in the mix, more crying from our contestants, and the first injury of The Bachelorette Season 17 were all present on Monday night’s episode as Katie Thurston got deeper into her journey to find love!
Fears were faced, lots of lips were kissed, and singlets were made sexy, but who made it into our power rankings? Find out below–and share your rankings with us in the comments below!
The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 5 power rankings
#1: Blake
The newcomer vying for our Bachelorette has officially made big moves in the house and into Katie’s heart this week! Blake takes the number one spot in our power rankings.
After a very awkward group introduction to the other guys, Blake made even more enemies almost immediately as he received the first one-on-one date of the week. Katie even tried to calm the waters with a speech to the dudes about the obviously not ideal situation, but it didn’t do much to appease this feisty group.
Despite the un-comfy moments they had to start the date, Blake and Katie had an amazing day. Blake faced his fear of horses with a ride through the countryside that ended with a roll in the hay where they did what Katie does best: make-out. Seriously, this girl kisses everyone!
That night they chatted about how Katie’s past had shaped her adult life and Blake was very supportive and compassionate about the hard situation. Unfortunately, the touching conversations couldn’t last because it was time for the first unknown country music singer concert of the season! Katie and Blake danced the night away between more passionate kisses and it is no surprise that Blake received the rose. These two could really be something!
#2: Hunter
Our overly aggressive dad of two takes the runner-up place this week in our rankings despite “winning” things on the group date. Yes, “I Like the Aggression” Hunter is our silver medalist.
Hunter’s time to shine for Katie finally came when he landed himself on the rugby meets basketball challenge group date. (Who thought of this sport, BTW?!?) I’m sure the conveniently placed heart singlets also helped his excitement!
After turning into the Tasmanian Devil on the field (Aaron’s words, not mine), Hunter decided to take things waaay too seriously and literally crush poor Michael A. to prevent him from scoring. The medics were called, Katie ended the game, and everyone thought they had a better chance of getting the date rose than the man who caused the damage.
But surprise, surprise we were all wrong! At the cocktail party, Hunter swept Katie off her feet with photos of his kids and his dad life that I feel like we didn’t actually know about until now. (I’m not the only one who was like, WAIT, WHAT, right??) His fire on the field and sweet side when they were alone was the perfect combo for our Bachelorette and Katie gave the new group villain that coveted group date rose.
#3: Michael A.
Once again this week the sweetest man ever makes it into the rankings because honestly why wouldn’t he? Michael A. claims our third place in the power rankings.
It was already a rough week for Michael! He was basically annihilated by Hunter during the rugby basketball date to the point where medics were called over and Katie had to end the competition then and there. Throw that on top of the fact that it was the day after his wife’s birthday and the tears were flowing all over the place.
Michael and Katie continued to bond that evening over his injury and his wife and it was too adorable. I think Michael is too good for the Bachelor franchise and I’m worried that his little heart will be broken! But until then I will gladly watch these two fall for each other.
If the previews show us anything, we know that the coming weeks look to be drama-filled and I can’t wait!
Tune in and see what happens and if it affects your favorites in the rankings throughout The Bachelorette Season 17.
