The Bachelorette Season 17 is back with yet another episode this week, and I think we can all agree, it’s going to be very dramatic. And while every episode is admittedly dramatic, we can thank Karl Smith for drudging it up this time around.

For reasons beyond our comprehension, Karl decided to create unnecessary drama in order to make all the other contestants look bad to Katie. He did that by appealing to the one insecurity Katie has been repeatedly bringing up–someone being there for the wrong reasons.

Without any solid proof, Karl went ahead and told her that there are multiple people there for the wrong reasons, and left her in a blubbering mess as a result. She was already emotional because of sending home Cody Menk earlier in the episode for the very same reason, so this did not help.

There will be a lot of residual tension in the house after what Karl did, and it looks like tonight’s episode will be revealing some more of that. Not everything will be gloom and doom though! Bachelor Nation alum Nick Viall will be stopping by to help some of the men share their personal stories.
