If you’ve been watching The Bachelorette season 17 with Katie Thurston and quickly formed a crush on contestant Greg Grippo, we don’t blame you. As the recipient of the first impression rose, the New Jersey native certainly stole some hearts during the first two episodes of the season.
Early on in the season, Katie and Greg went on a one-on-one together and bonded over the trauma they share. Unfortunately, after Katie opened up about losing her dad, Greg then revealed that his dad had also passed away.
And apart from growing closer over their losses, Katie and Greg have seemed to have a ton of fun together, having a blast while on their fishing/camping date which was basically the lowest-effort one-on-one the franchise has ever seen. The two sincerely looked happy together for a while, which was great to see. However, a lot has changed since the beginning of the season. And there are still two more
vying for Katie’s heart.
Will Greg make it to the finish line and get down on one knee at the end of this?
*Spoilers ahead for The Bachelorette season 17.*
Does Greg win The Bachelorette season 17 with Katie?
UPDATE 8/2/2021: Though we don’t know how everything will go down during The Bachelorette season 17, we do have some spoilers from our guy Reality Steve. According to the TV guru, Katie does end up engaged at the end of this, and it’s unfortunately not with Greg. In the finale next week, Katie is believed to be getting engaged to Blake Moynes.
Reality Steve had this to say about Katie’s relationship status in a June 23 blog post:
"“Here’s what I can share. For the longest time since filming ended, I basically kept hearing things about her final 4 of those who DIDN’T win. And at some point during that time, I’ve received actual proof that Andrew, Justin, and Greg all didn’t win. I obviously can’t share that proof without compromising sources. Last week was when I got the proof on the final guy who didn’t win. So yeah, all signs pointed to Blake due to process of elimination, but I still didn’t feel comfortable reporting Blake because nobody had actually told me ‘Katie is engaged to Blake.’ I also hadn’t been told that she DIDN’T pick him either. Just hadn’t heard anything regarding Blake until this past weekend I got my first ‘She’s with Blake’ info, then yesterday, got the confirmation I needed.”"
As we saw in tonight’s episode of The Bachelorette, this process has become extremely hard for Greg, who nearly self-eliminated after hometowns. We don’t have confirmation whether or not he actually went home tonight, and knowing this franchise, he’ll probably be back next week. But we know he does not win, and he does not get engaged to Katie.
Who is Katie’s final four on The Bachelorette?
In case you missed it, Katie’s final four this season were Blake, Greg, Justin Glaze, and Michael Allio. Michael self-eliminated, unfortunately, so he could go home to be with his young son. After he went home, things were understandably harder than ever for Katie. And next week’s finale likely won’t get any easier.
