The Bachelorette Season 17 continued this week with two group dates and one very emotional one-on-one date. Katie grew closer to several of the men and sent one home during a group date.

The first date this week was a group date. Katie was excited to see everyone’s personalities come out. It was a cold day, so thankfully, the date was inside. The guys were confused because they were in a dark room with sex stuff. Katie had help from the Juicy Scoop podcaster, Heather McDonald.

They had a sex quiz, which stumped a few of the men, and then had to prepare a speech for Katie. Each guy presented why they would be the greatest lover. The presentations were hilarious. The guys were entertaining, comedic, and confident with their storytelling.

The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 2 recap: Mike shares his truth

Mike was very uncomfortable during this date because he hadn’t told Katie he was a virgin yet. But when it was his turn, Mike shared a very kind and sweet poem, which helped him express why he is saving himself for marriage. The poem made Katie emotional, and she gave Mike the greatest lover trophy. He highlighted that intimacy could come in many different forms. Despite her appreciation of Mike, Katie gave Thomas the group date rose later that night.

Greg, the guy who received the first impression rose last week, had the first one on one date with Katie. They had an outdoorsy time setting up a tent, fishing, and simulating a camping trip. Katie opened up about her dad passing away and how being outdoors reminded her of her dad. Later in their date, Greg opened up about his dad passing away recently. Their conversation was very emotional, and they bonded over the loss of their dads.

The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 2 recap: Aaron and Cody’s drama

The next group date started with Tayshia and Kaitlyn waking them up early banging on cowbells. They showed up to the date in their pajamas and changed into cowboy clothes. The guys competed in mud wrestling, hoping to win extra time with Katie. Most of the matches were cordial, but Aaron and Cody fought hard. They know each other from their hometown and didn’t like one another.

Aaron beat Cody and won the competition. Katie and Aaron had a private conversation right after the wrestling. She commented on the tension between them, and Aaron vocalized his dislike of Cody. When they met up with the rest of the group, Katie asked to speak with Cody first. Cody denied Aaron calling him malicious and unkind. She didn’t appreciate how Cody handled the conversation and decided to send him home. Andrew received the group rose later in the night.

Karl tried to create drama during the cocktail party. He wouldn’t give Katie examples of who was there for the wrong reasons. Katie approached the group, shaking, and stating that they needed to leave if they were there for the wrong reasons. While Katie spoke with Aaron, Karl admitted to the group that he told Katie about people who weren’t authentic, but he wouldn’t say who it was that wasn’t authentic. Katie was upset and crying, and the guys turned on Karl quickly.

The episode didn’t end with a rose ceremony, but there’s plenty of drama leading into next week. And we have Karl to blame for that!
