The Bachelorette Season 17 was filled with some interesting moments this week–and we’re breaking them all down for you!

This week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 17 was full of romance, mud wrestling, and some seriously questionable drama. There was plenty to talk about and discuss, so without any delay, let’s get into the best and worst moments from the episode!

The Bachelorette Season 17, Episode 2: Best moment: Self-portraits!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love the ending scenes that run during the credits of The Bachelorette! The quirky music and random topics discussed in these are always refreshingly different than the tone of the rest of the show. We often get to see more of the contestant’s (and often the lead’s) personalities than we do during the whole episode of edited footage.

Case in point: I knew next to nothing about Connor the Cat before we saw the ending scene between him and Katie. Most of the conversation that was shown up until this point had to do with him dressing up as a cat.

I was so charmed by the self-portrait idea and the conversation that followed. It was just such a normal conversation. Connor asked her if she has any tattoos, and Katie said she cries when confronted with needles. He responded by saying his roommate has the same fear—it felt like a real, “get to know you” conversation, which unfortunately can be hard to find on The Bachelorette these days!

We got to see some real bonding between Connor B. and Katie!

Even better, we got to see Katie reveal her extreme fear of getting COVID tests, hilariously saying she “accidentally punched the nurse” and “had to hold her thumb like a child.” It was so refreshing to see an unrehearsed, weird side of Katie as well! It’s also crazy to think that COVID was still in full flow when this season was filmed.

Moral of the story: show more of these types of scenes!
