Katie Thurston’s best moment #2: Katie and Sarah talk it out

We all saw the drama— frontrunner Sarah Trott committed the cardinal sin of crashing a group date and interrupting other girls, namely Katie’s, time. This earned Sarah a few days (it’s hard to tell the timeline in Bachelor world!) of trouble in the house, involving her hiding in her room while the other girls talked ad nauseam about her.

This plotline was very familiar—it seems like it happens every season! What was unfamiliar was Katie’s response to it all.

Katie went up to Sarah’s room to talk to her, and not only did she encourage Sarah to stay and explore her connection with Matt, but she also listened and bonded with Sarah about her insecurities and her family situation.

Why it was great: This was such(!) a refreshing moment to see on The Bachelor. To observe an honest, supportive conversation between two women, laying their insecurities on the table, and bonding about the loss of loved ones was really one of the best moments from recent seasons. I’m sure these moments occur all the time in the mansion, but they are so rarely shown!
