The Bachelorette Season 17: Katie Thurston wraps filming ahead of schedule
By Ariba Bhuvad
The Bachelorette Season 17 has officially wrapped production and that too earlier than expected. I know, I know, your first thought is–did something go wrong? Is this going to be another one of those seasons?
As of now, we don’t know exactly how things went down but rest assured, Bachelor Nation guru, Reality Steve, will let us know soon enough. However, Cosmopolitan reported that apparently, it was Katie’s decision to end the season early.
What prompted her to do so? Well, a source told Us Weekly, that “Katie was in control” and “made sure the men she wanted were there”. Okay, so far so good–we can respect a woman that knows what she wants, right?
The source went on to say that if Bachelor Nation is worried about this being another Clare Crawley situation, then you can set your worries aside. Apparently, Katie’s season “went great and it wrapped a week ahead of schedule”. Well, I still have questions, and I’m not sure the source really gave us the assurance we needed.
The Bachelorette Season 17: More of the same?
As of now, we don’t know if Katie’s season ended because she fell for someone fast or if she was just not interested in anyone and they all were sent home. Given the luck this franchise has had of late, I wouldn’t be shocked if it was either-or.
It’s also unclear if wrapping early meant the season followed the usual elimination schedule of contestants leading all the way up until the final men standing. Honestly, we may just be panicking for no reason and it could just be that everything went so seamlessly that there were no issues.
I’m not sure I could wrap my head around a Bachelor Nation show going that smoothly so the verdict is still out on the multitude of reasons why the season ended early.
The source also went on to talk about cohosts Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe, who subbed in for Chris Harrison. Given the former Bachelorettes have been through this journey themselves, they were able to “relate Katie’s journey in a lot of different ways.”
They both seemed to have a great time hosting, and the two of them together “made a great team.” I honestly didn’t expect anything less from both of them–they’re simply the best!
I know it’s been a rough few months, Bachelor Nation, but I’m going to remain hopeful for The Bachelorette Season 17. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll get a season filled with love and hope. Is that too much to ask for?
Also, can we get an actual promo for the season?
