The cousin of a former contestant could be on The Bachelorette Season 17

The Bachelorette Season 17 is presumably underway with Bachelor contestant Katie Thurston as the lead. We met Katie during the most recent (and very controversial) season of The Bachelor and suffice to say, she left a lasting impression on us all when she showed up with a vibrator on the very first day.

Her relationship with Matt James eventually ended up in the friendzone, and soon after, she was sent home. Her outspoken nature and desire to fight for the truth quickly made her a fan-favorite so it came as no surprise whatsoever when she was named as our next Bachelorette, with fellow contestant Michelle Young following in her footsteps shortly after.

As production on The Bachelorette Season 17 begins, we have begun getting some information about the potential contestants that will be competing for Katie’s heart. It’s not a confirmed list as of yet, but there is one person that already stands out–26-year-old Chicago native Andrew Spencer.

Spencer is related to a former (and very popular) contestant that we’ve seen in the franchise a couple of times. This will definitely give him a leg up on the rest of the contestants joining because as much as you can know about this process, the better. As we’ve seen time and time again, this experience is anything but easy so having a family member go through the experience with you is certainly an advantage.

Who is Andrew Spencer from The Bachelorette Season 17 related to?

Spencer is related to none other than former NFL player, Clay Harbor, according to Showbiz CheatSheet. Harbor was first introduced to the franchise during Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette and then returned for a stint on Bachelor in Paradise season 6.

While speaking with Us Weekly, Harbor revealed the advice he imparted to his cousin ahead of his time on The Bachelorette Season 17.

"He’s hilarious. I just told him to be himself, make her laugh, and just go out there and have fun. It’s a cool experience. And, you know, just try to be as open as possible because it’s such a fast process. You got to kind of wear your heart on your sleeve a little more than you would in the real world."

Similar to his cousin, Andrew Spencer is also a former football player per Reality Steve.
