The Bachelor: Are Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell still together?
By Cody Schultz
Matt James might not have gotten down on one knee and walked away from The Bachelor season 25 an engaged man, but when the final episode of The Bachelor came to a close he very much was in a committed relationship.
To recap, after introducing his mom and brother to the final two contestants this season, Matt was forced to confront the reality of the situation as it finally settled in that in just a matter of days he could potentially be asking someone to spend the rest of their lives with him. Rather than racing into an engagement, Matt instead asked Rachael Kirkconnell to see where their journey could take them next in dating outside of the show rather than getting engaged.
However, as we’ve seen, a lot has unfolded in the weeks since the season finished taping leaving many to wonder whether Matt and Rachael are still together.

Why did Matt and Rachael from The Bachelor breakup?
While Rachael Kirkconnell emerged as a frontrunner early in the season, allegations came to light weeks into the season of Rachael attending an antebellum-themed “Old South” college party in 2018. The troublesome photos were accompanied by a viral TikTok in which she was found to be “‘liking’ posts containing the Confederate flag and sharing QAnon conspiracy theories.”
Understandably, after the allegations were proven to be factual, the strain of Rachael’s past actions proved too great for their relationship to overcome leading Matt and Rachael to go their separate ways.
