Following an intense ten weeks, Matt James‘ time as The Bachelor finally came to an end in an intense finale that was full of shocking twists. While we all anticipated The Bachelor season 25 finale to be an emotional rollercoaster, but nothing quite prepared us for the final episode of the season!
After introducing Michelle Young and Racheal Kirkconnell to his mom and brother, it was clear the gravity of the upcoming end to his journey as The Bachelor was weighing more heavily on Matt than it has this entire season. While Michelle and Rachael’s time with his family went well, it was clear the words of wisdom bestowed upon Matt by his mom were weighing heavily on his heart and mind throughout the episode.

After speaking with his mom, Matt James had one final date with Michelle which led him to make the realization that he wasn’t ready to get down on one knee to propose to her. As a result, Matt sent Michelle home earlier than expected and then took the following day to reflect upon his feelings rather than going on one final date with Rachael.

Following some reflection, the big moment finally arrived in which Matt and Rachael came face to face in which Rachael poured her heart out to Matt with one final confession of love.
At the end of The Bachelor season 25, Matt James chose not to propose to Racheal Kirkconnell. Instead, he simply professed his feelings and asked to see where things would go outside of The Bachelor bubble.
