It is always very apparent when the season is coming to a close as the lead finds one or two episodes to send home a whole flock of contestants. The Bachelor Season 25 aired that episode this week! Matt  James showed no mercy and we said goodbye to many of the women, but not without some cringing, of course.

We began the episode with Heather interrupting the remaining contestants‘ evening with Matt. I truly think Heather is kind and sweet with innocence about her. However, production really stretched it with her storyline.  An unannounced drop-in?

Casting didn’t need to have a say in this? So any one of us sitting at home that thinks we could have a strong connection with Matt can just drive up to the resort in a Dodge Caravan and state our case? We all know that is not true and her whole presence is really bothering me.

If they wanted to create drama their mission was accomplished. Heather’s stay was short-lived as Matt did not find it fair to the other women and their six-week investment in the process.

The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 7: This week’s exits

Heather’s was the first cringe-worthy exit of the evening. Because she was such an unannounced, unplanned, and complete surprise contestant she didn’t even get to experience the exit in the proper limo. Her limo tears were reserved for the rental van and she was required to drive herself to the airport. Cringe!

The overall tone of the women in the house is tense and anxious as hometowns are creeping up and the amount of alone time available with Matt is limited. The rose ceremony at the top of the episode, after Heather’s departure, allowed for six roses to be distributed.

Bri, Rachael, Serena P., Kit, Jessenia, and Abigail secured their spots for the time being. Serena C. and Chelsea ultimately were walked out after saying their goodbyes. We only saw them walk down the resort steps, and never saw them in their limos.

Heather may have been waiting for them at the entrance and they just pooled together to the airport in her van. The remaining women have a renewed confidence and hope in the time ahead.

The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 7: Serena P.’s one-on-one date and the group date

It wasn’t only the exits that provided cringe-worthy moments in this episode. Serena P’.s one-on-one date with Matt was tantric yoga at the Nemacolin spa facility.  Matt really enjoyed himself but Serena was way out of her comfort zone with the vibes and poses involved in this date. She pulled through and if it wasn’t for her voice-over commentary I don’t think the audience would have known how much she disliked it.

The group date for once didn’t seem to include any athletic competition type of event. Each woman had at least a few minutes for a serious conversation on how they have all been feeling.  Matt admitted things were feeling intense and that things were getting “realer and realer”.

Bri explained her struggles in resigning from her career to take her chances with Matt. Abigail stated that she was worried their relationship was stalling as she looked for reassurance from Matt. Unfortunately, he said Abigail deserves someone who puts her first. Another limo arrived to take Abigail to the airport. The remaining ladies were shocked.

Matt and Rachael shared some special time and it was clear Rachael could not wipe the smile off her face the rest of the evening. Matt must have felt the same way because he extended the only rose of the group date to Rachael and they walked over to a private area to enjoy the obligatory “concert” from Aloe Blacc  (Yeah, I had to look him up too).

Kit was clearly feeling shattered after Rachael received the rose and she expressed not knowing how much more she could take. She knocks on his door and asks to come in for an important chat.  In an unexpected twist, Kit decides to self eliminate and Matt looked genuinely shocked and a bit hurt that he lost his chances as he did truly have feelings for Kit.

If this wasn’t enough, after a very successful one-on-one date between Matt and Jessenia they finished the evening where Matt held the rose up and declared all the things he liked about Jessenia and ultimately sent her home!  This is not the first time Matt has done them dirty like this.  Please don’t touch the damn rose if you are sending them home!

The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 7: Bye, Pieper

The final exit happened at the rose ceremony and it was also the final cringe. Pieper was excluded from moving on to hometowns and she could not get out of that situation fast enough.

Matt walked her out at a very brisk pace. She packed her limo tears and a fierce self-dialogue wondering how she could have let this happen as she leaves clearly heartbroken.

It was quite the eventful week for the contestants of The Bachelor Season 25, and it’s only going to get more complicated as we head into hometowns next week!

Next. War of Roses: The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 7. dark

We are sure to have our share of more moments to cringe over next week when we go to the hometowns (presumably still at Nemacolin). These are usually chocked full of skeptical parents and siblings. Get ready, Bachelor Nation!
