After viewing this episode of The Bachelor Season 25, it is very clear that production is running out of Nemacolin-exclusive activities and outings. Even the dreaded full moon scenery transitions are popping up again.
We all know production doesn’t only film during full moons, don’t insult our intelligence!
The episode picked up right where it left off with MJ Snyder and Jessenia howling at each other. If you pause your DVR just right you may see a cameo of the ghost of “Petty Crocker”.
Matt James pulled Jessenia aside so he could get her side of the story while MJ sat alone, probably wondering where the pants to her outfit were left. MJ tells the cameras that she is sure Matt will understand everything if she just gets some time with him. They have a connection. Things will be fine! Things were not fine.
Jessenia got the rose, MJ got the limo. The rest of the girls get nothing as the emotional exhaustion caused Matt to cancel the cocktail party and go straight to the rose ceremony. The thorned, or scorned, included leaving Ryan, Brittany, and Magi roseless.
The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 6: Katie vs. Serena C.
The episode trudges along as all the contestants drool over the date cards and the anxiety levels reach their peak in the quest of receiving a one-on-one date when only two will be given. Chris Harrison drops off the first one and Kit announces it has been awarded to Pieper.
Katie provides a monologue as to how this just means it wasn’t the right time for her and how she is still fully confident that her connection with Matt will flourish. This unsolicited commentary is clearly not well received by Serena C. and begins to boil her blood. She stomps up to room 1820 to tell Katie exactly how it made her feel as the viewers cringed.
Serena explains how frustrated she is with Katie’s “antics” and how they take time away from everything else. Serena goes on to indicate that she doesn’t even think Katie is here for Matt and that Katie inserting herself where she is uninvited makes her an arsonist of little fires.
The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 6: Heather Martin returns
If that little dialogue didn’t provide you enough to cringe about, we got to see Heather Martin drive up to the resort in a rented Dodge Caravan and ask to speak to Chris Harrison. Her arrival truly made no sense. She is friends with Hannah Brown and could have met Matt James in other ways very easily so we are again insulted to believe that this is unscripted and that Heather is an actual drop in.
Colton’s season was in 2019 which is basically a decade ago. Her joining as a contestant truly seems out of place. Can someone tap her on the shoulder and tell her this resort is NOT the Nema-Colton!?! While you’re at it, you can tell her that her quarantine vlogs from the motel are also pretty cringe-worthy.
The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 6: Katie and Matt prank Tyler C.
Pieper was very excited for her one on one and although it didn’t go poorly, their chemistry seemed to match the levels of taking your brother’s best friend to the prom. I don’t think she’ll be sent home at the next ceremony, but I really don’t think he is going to be proposing to her at the end of this either.
And then there was the group date! And the one standing at the end, aka the one getting the coveted one-on-one date was none other than Katie!
The group date is bowling because, as mentioned, we are out of activities to do in a resort bubble. Of course, it is another competitive group date because the producers clearly hate the contestants. They even get matching uniforms distributed to them. More cringing occurred when the team names of “Pink Petals” and “Blue Bombshells” were announced. In the spirit of the rules being that there are no rules, Matt eventually invites even the losing team to join them at the after-party.
We still have time to cringe at Katie’s one-on-one date. This was a very playful date as they pranked Matt’s best friend Tyler C. by talking into the masseuse’s ear. Unfortunately, it was less “Ross and Rachel” and more “Ross and Phoebe”. It was a truly entertaining date for the audience to watch but it did not abound with romance.
Ultimately, even after all the laughs, Matt held up a rose over the “date food” they never ate and complimented her and her character but eventually said he was not in a position to give it to her. Can we say “blindsided”?
The fan-favorite gets sent packing with no real concrete reason given. I mean having Heather Martin be the Uber driver for Katie’s return to the airport would have made more sense than Matt sending her home for no reason! I hope we get some “clarity” on this during the Tell-All because I truly feel that we are missing some context here.
The remaining girls get introduced to Heather Martin to end the episode with impending drama for next week’s episode. Her grand entrance was while Matt was chatting with Pieper during some alone time.
Nothing good will come from Heather’s entrance, we’re calling it now!
It is very clear that Heather is not creating any friends with these “OGs” and the trailer for next week shows that the drama, and the cringing, is just beginning.
