We’re officially over halfway through The Bachelor season 25, and it looks like ABC has finalized their plans for the next leading lady in the franchise. The Bachelorette season 17 is seemingly on track to run during its usual springtime season, and according to TV guru Reality Steve, inside sources have confirmed the woman who will become the next Bachelorette.

Considering neither of the two Bachelorettes of

season 16

were from Peter Weber’s season, fans were under the assumption that perhaps the season 17 lead would be one of his former

contestants

. Clare Crawley first appeared in the franchise on Juan Pablo Galavis’ season, and Tayshia Adams made her debut on Colton Underwood’s. But as we all know, choosing the franchise lead has been less than traditional as of late. The current Bachelor

Matt James

has never appeared on the series in any capacity, so at this point the next Bachelorette could really be anyone’s game.

Reality Steve took to Twitter on February 7 to drop the news of the next

Bachelorette

lead, so do not continue reading if you don’t want spoilers.

*Spoilers ahead for The Bachelorette and The Bachelor.*

Who is the next Bachelorette?

According to Reality Steve, Katie Thurston has been chosen for The Bachelorette season 17. Katie, of course, is a current contestant on Matt’s season. She made quite a first impression on night one when she walked out of the limo with a vibrator, and she’s since become a fan-favorite in the house. She’s diffused catty situations and defended her fellow contestants when they needed it the most, and I do think she has what it takes to be the Bachelorette!

You can see Reality Steve’s tweet below, where he also reveals that Katie is sent home in the upcoming episode on Monday, February 8. Apparently, she’ll be eliminated during her one-on-one date with Matt.

So how accurate is this information? Probably very accurate. Reality Steve is a trusted source for Bachelor Nation, and in the few times he’s been wrong about spoilers in the past, he’s owned up to his inaccuracies. If he continues to report that Katie is the next Bachelorette, it’s likely true.

As upset as I’ll be to watch Katie go home, I’m also excited about this news! Katie’s got a great personality and seems extremely mature and honest. Be sure to tune in when the Women Tell All special drops later on in the season to see how the reported announcement goes down!

The Bachelor season 25 continues every Monday night on ABC.
