The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 5: Group Date

The second date of the episode was a group date that involved all the women getting down and dirty on the farm. Serena P., Bri, Katie, Pieper, Serena C., Ryan, Michelle, Brittany, Magi, Abigail, Chelsea, Jessenia, and MJ were all on this date. Because Matt said he grew up in the country, he wanted to show the women where he came from, even if that means getting a little messy.

The date started off great, with everyone laughing and having a good time. But tensions started to rise when Matt ran up to Pieper James during a little side interview and kissed her in front of all of the other women. Yes, it’s The Bachelor, but you have to admit that would be awkward. There wasn’t much more to the day portion of the date, so we will move into the evening.

Out of all the women, Abigail Heringer had really deep conversations with Matt later that night. She opened up to Matt about being a bit down lately and feeling like their relationship wasn’t progressing as much as others. But when she opened up about being deaf and how it may affect her future or children’s lives, it really touched me. A very tough conversation to have, but she is so brave and courageous for sharing her feelings.

Michelle Young also had a great conversation with Matt. She just came off her first one-on-one date last week but was feeling the pressure of the show in general. You can see she was struggling within, but Matt reassured her and she seemed to feel a bit better afterward.

But it was Abigail who eventually got the group date rose. Some of the other women were upset they didn’t receive the rose but boohoo. Abigail took a big jump in her relationship with Matt tonight and dug deep to express some tough things. A lot of the other girls had great conversations, but none that were as moving or more expressive than Abigail’s. I think she 100% deserves this rose out of the other women on that group date.
