The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 5: Best moment: Matt’s dusting!

Okay, this was so precious.

After last week of contrived drama and many weeks of legitimately mean and (to borrow the show’s new favorite word) “toxic” behavior, this wholesome preparation Matt undertook to clean for his at-home date with Kit stood out as a beacon of normalcy in this season.

When I saw Matt’s precious dusting, I questioned at first whether producers put him up to it. Maybe dusting was meant to build up his nice, normal image? However, I personally don’t think this was a ruse. I can actually see Matt as the type of guy who spends time cleaning the house before a girl comes over for a date. Too cute.

I loved when Matt actually referenced, “I want to make sure I’m on my game. So I’ve been cleaning the house all day; I want to make sure everything’s in order.” I actually believe Matt is this way in real life, the type who goes out of his way to be a “good boyfriend,” and it just adds to the novelty of having a lead who is not entrenched in the fame of Bachelor Nation.

This whole date kind of reminded me of Ashley and JP’s first date when she was stressed out by the drama and was comforted by an evening at home with JP.

You guys, I’ve watched that dusting clip conservatively ten times. It’s amazing.
