It looks like The Bachelorette Season 17 may be traveling across international borders to give us the next season. Keep in mind that is not official information and merely speculation that has been forwarded to Bachelor Nation guru Reality Steve.
While the planning for the next season is not premature, it is still quite early days before the “who is the next Bachelorette” announcement. Usually, the next lead is announced at the After The Final Rose segment of the season, and it’s likely that’s when we’ll hear about The Bachelorette Season 17 lead as well.
We didn’t really get a proper Tell All or After The Final Rose after Clare Crawley/Tayshia Adams’ season, at least not in the traditional sense anyway. But it looks like we will get one following Matt James’ season of The Bachelor, but due to COVID-19, it will be taped beforehand.
And hopefully, as tradition dictates, we will find out who our next Bachelorette will be towards the end of the special. There are no clear frontrunners at this time, but Bachelor Nations have put forth some names including but not limited to the newly single Kelley Flanagan.
Where will The Bachelorette Season 17 be filmed?
Based on “early speculation” as reported by Reality Steve, it looks like the next season might be taking place in Canada at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta.
I think we are all thinking the same thing when we hear they could be filming in Canada–what about COVID-19 travel restrictions? As of now, there is no information about the potential logistics, but it is certainly something to ponder about.
Are they going to go with a strictly Canadian crew and contestants? Or will they need to change locations? We’ll have to sit tight and wait for ABC to release official news, but it is rather peculiar nonetheless.
Reality Steve has also reported that similar to Clare/Tayshia/Matt’s seasons, there will be a period of quarantining and COVID-19 testing to ensure the safest environment possible. And of course, they would be restricted to just one location as those seasons as well. I think they’ve got that entire protocol down to a tee given there have been no reports of positive cases from either season.
"I know this will bring up a ton of questions, namely, ‘How can they film in Canada when Canada has closed their borders?’ I don’t know. Clearly production has already worked something out because I’ve heard from 5 different people now that Canada is where they’re filming next season. I don’t know the city/region or the resort yet. But just know it’ll be there."
Filming is rumored to begin in March for The Bachelorette Season 17, and presumably, they’ll hope to begin it airing it by May to get back on track with the pre-COVID-19 schedule. And if things go as planned, we’ll be right on track for the next season of Bachelor In Paradise, which was completely skipped over last summer due to the pandemic.
It will be quite interesting to see who the next Bachelorette will be given the options ABC has–two recent seasons of The Bachelor, a Bachelor Nation alum, or someone new entirely. It wouldn’t be too shocking if they went the route of bringing on a newbie to the franchise just as they have with Matt James.
For the time being, we’ll have to wait for answers to all our questions, and see exactly how things will play out in terms of lead, location, and otherwise for The Bachelorette Season 17. But I must admit, I am quite excited!
It’s already time for the next season of The Bachelorette?!
