If you somehow haven’t heard yet, Clare Crawley and Dale Moss have officially called it quits.

, one fan reposted Spencer’s attempt to get Clare’s attention on Instagram, writing, “Gotta say I opened this story and it made me laugh, although it’s probably not the right time.”

So, is it too soon for Spencer to be hitting on Clare? Obviously, some people online say it’s definitely “not the right time.” On the other hand, many are claiming it’s reasonable, noting that while Spencer wound up on Tayshia Adams’ stint on

The Bachelorette

, he likely tried out for Clare’s first.

Spencer, who famously arrived late to the game (coming in during Week 5), wasted no time shooting his shot with Clare. His very public “Coffee?” request was posted just hours after Crawley’s split from Moss was publicly confirmed. Needless to say, it seemed like a pretty bold move. So far, Clare has yet to comment on her split from Dale. And so, it’s still not clear if she’s in a good place or reeling.

When Dale Moss stepped out of that limo in The Bachelorette season 16 premiere, Clare Crawley said she felt like she’d just met her husband. In a shocking twist, she decided to leave the show for (and with) Dale. The two became engaged on national television, and for a while they seemed like they might just live happily ever after.

Chances are, this breakup has not been easy on either one of them. Emotionally, it might be a little too soon for Clare to go on a coffee date with Spencer, but it was definitely a funny gesture.
