When does Sarah Trott go home on The Bachelor?
By Cody Schultz
Victoria Larson might have emerged as the villain of The Bachelor season 25 in the first episodes of the season; however, it seems Sarah Trott is coming for her crown — at least in the eyes of her fellow contestants.
During the first two episodes of The Bachelor, Sarah had begun to emerge as an early favorite among fans but the momentum quickly began to change in episode 3 when Sarah began to take things a bit too far in her efforts to steal time with Matt James.
After being passed over for the first group date of the night, Sarah was eager to get some time with Matt and decided to crash the evening’s after-party — which did not go over well with the ten contestants who had invited on the date.
Looking to connect with Matt, Sarah crashed the party and stole Matt away from those who had a right to, you know, actually be at the group date after-party as contestants who had actually been on the group date. Sarah managed to put a damper on the rest of the night and her unwelcomed appearance even managed to result in certain ladies failing to get any one-on-one time with Matt.
Because crashing the group date fun wasn’t bad enough, Sarah then spent the following morning wallowing in her room. This set the stage for Matt to make Serena wait for her date to begin so that he could check on Sarah, and only further added to the tension felt between the other contestants and Sarah.
It didn’t help that Sarah chose to spend the rest of the day in her room and only emerged when the latest date card arrived. This led to a heated confrontation in which the group laid into her without any thought for her well-being or anyone actually taking a moment to ask her about the situation.
Why does Sarah Trott leave The Bachelor?
Following the showdown with the rest of the contestants, Sarah took some much needed time to reflect, and after a sweet conversation with Katie Thurston, Sarah made the difficult decision to leave the show on her own accord.

Although the drama with the other contestants played a small role in her decision, as Sarah noted when saying goodbye to Matt, the key factor in Sarah’s decision to leave was her need to be with her family at this time. As Sarah revealed earlier this season, her father is currently battling ALS and ultimately she felt in her heart it was more important for her to be with her dad — and more than understandably so.
At the end of the day, Sarah needed to do what was best for her and while she clearly had sparked strong feelings with Matt, it was in her best well-being and mental health to step away and focus on her family.
