The Bachelor Season 25 is back which means more roses to be given out on dates. Who impressed Matt enough to receive a rose and who didn’t meet the mark?

It’s the second week of Matt James’ season of The Bachelor Season 25 and we are here to break down each rose that was given out. There was one group date and two one-on-one dates–and a whole lot of drama as always.

There’s a lot to discuss and break down about all the roses given out this week, so without further ado, let’s get right into it!

We kick off this week’s War of Roses with Bri Springs:

The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 2: One-on-one date: Bri Springs

Bri Springs’ date was not only the first of Matt’s season, but it was also the first one-on-one. The first pick from either The Bachelor or The Bachelorette is usually someone who they are pretty interested in. I think Matt has that same feeling towards Bri. From night one Bri was one of my front runners because the two seemed to have a spark from the get-go. When she got chosen for the date I wasn’t at all surprised, unlike some others who expected Abigail Heringer to get chosen.

The first date of The Bachelor Season 25 started with the two going on an adventure through the woods, on ATVs. A perfect fall date with a touch of danger, what could go wrong? Nothing, right? Well, it started off very cute, super fun and it seemed like the two were really enjoying each other’s company. Both expressed excitement and nerves going into the date, Bri even confessed she has never done something like this before.

At one point Bri got onto Matt’s ATV and he asked if she trusted him. Of course, she said yes and he began to spin out (go in non-stop circles, that is). Then all of a sudden the ATV started tilting and the two fell off. Thank goodness it cut to a scene of the two laughing because I was scared for a second there. The date ended with the day portion in a hot tub and even included a kiss.

At night Matt brought Bri for the classic sit-down dinner, you know the one that never gets eaten.  The conversation really seemed to flow and they really got to know one another. Bri shared her family life, talked about her dad, and said it’s been hard in quarantine not being able to see her mom. The two bonded over having a similar situation with their fathers. After talking all night, Matt reached over and asked Bri if she would accept the date rose. With a smile on her face, she accepted and the two ended the night watching fireworks together.

Bri 100% deserved this date rose, from the chemistry to the sparks. Matt made the right choice for his first one-on-one date of the season, and it really showed.

The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 2: Group Date

What is a Bachelor season without a wedding-themed date? I’m not sure because we haven’t seen a season without one in years, but I love it. I always find the first group date of the season hilarious and cringe at the same time. Most of the women, if not all, think they are going to be Matt’s bride at the end. Watching them all confess their deep feelings episode two always makes me laugh, but all the power to them.

It started with all of the women getting to choose their own wedding dress. Then it went into the portion where they each got wedding pictures taken with Matt. But when Chris Harrison showed up, we all knew something was about to happen, and it did. All of a sudden, in their gorgeous wedding dresses, they are told they’d be playing “Capture the Heart” in two teams. Not only that but large paintballs were involved. All these women literally fighting for Matt’s heart, covered in paint, it was hilarious. There was a blue team and a red team, but the red team prevailed and got to continue on with the date. While the other half had to leave…

I have to say, in the evening portion, no one really stood out to me. He had good conversations with the women and of course, there was Victoria. But to me, it didn’t seem like anyone left on the second part of that date was of deep interest to Matt. The only one who had a deeper conversation with Matt was Lauren Maddox, and she ended up getting the group date rose. They bonded and shared a kiss, but nothing that was so amazing that she ended up becoming the front runner for the rose.

The Bachelor Season 25, Episode 2: One-on-one date: Sarah Trott

Sarah Trott was the second girl of the season who got a one-on-one date with Matt. Sarah didn’t exactly stand out on night one, but I do remember Matt thinking she was gorgeous as soon as he met her. Their date started with the two getting on an old open-top airplane, it looked terrifying. I wouldn’t necessarily want to be up there, but they seemed to enjoy it. A lot of the other women saw the plane from the house and were very jealous, but who can blame them.

Sarah did say she was a bit of a private person and it takes time to break down her walls, but she did a good job on date one. The conversation started at a slow pace and Matt definitely noticed she was holding back initially. He wanted to go into the night diving deeper and seeing if he could get her to open up.

The evening portion seemed to flow and go a lot better between the two, and Sarah was able to open up. The two talked about their families and Sarah shared some personal stories from her life. It was very touching watching Sarah talk about her dad and Matt made sure she knew he was there for her. After sharing so much and being vulnerable together, Matt decided to give her the date rose, and Sarah accepted.

I think from starting the date closed off and guarded, to getting to a point where she opened up about something so personal, Sarah 100% deserves this rose. I think with this date, the two have a stronger bond and Matt will definitely not forget Sarah and her strength.

The second week is over and it brought us our first one-on-one and a massive group date. I think both girls on the one-on-one dates deserved their roses and as for the group date rose, I am happy that Lauren got it and will be sticking with us for another week. I just don’t think there was a stand out that night!
