Chris Harrison drops Ali Fedotowsky shoutout during The Bachelor

The second episode of The Bachelor season 25 left viewers with quite a lot to talk about what with all the drama that unfolded during the rose ceremony and across the first dates of the season. However, one moment that seems to have gone over the heads of many viewers was a subtle Easter egg from host Chris Harrison meant as a callback to an infamous Bachelorette moment!

During the night’s eventful episode, Matt James‘ season of the show made history with what appears to be the biggest group date ever in Bachelor history. 18 women were invited to join Matt for an unforgettable date which started off with some wedding photos and ended in pandemonium as the date turned into a Bachelor inspired game of capture the flag.

Joining Matt and beloved Bachelor Nation photographer Franco to provide viewers with a play-by-play of the action was our favorite host, who managed to sneak in a fun Easter egg during the action.

With the game heating up, Chris encouraged the contestants to, “Guard and protect your heart.” While the line seemed like witty commentary, it was actually a direct nod to Aly Fedotowsky’s season of The Bachelorette and one of the franchise’s most infinite moments.

For those unfamiliar with Ali’s season of The Bachelorette, Chris’s Easter egg was a reference to contestant Kasey Kahl who infamously got a 6-inch tattoo of a rose and shield during Ali’s season. When showing the tattoo to Ali for the first time, Kasey pledged his loyalty to Ally noting he was there to “guard and protect” her heart.

"“I can honestly say, at this point, I choose to be here for you,” Kasey told Ali, during their date. “I choose you and I hope that one day you can choose me. I told you in the very beginning. I’m here to guard and protect your heart.”"
