6. Andrew Firestone: Season 3

The Bachelor has had its share of interesting leads over the years ranging from literal royalty to professional football players. But it was season 3’s lead, Andrew Firestone, that really caught our attention.

If the name Firestone elicits images of tires in your mind, then yes, it is exactly what you are thinking. Andrew is the great-grandson of the founder of Firestone Tire and Rubber Company! In those early days, it seems like ABC was really trying to get notable faces to represent the franchise, weren’t they?

Given Firestone’s season was only the third one, the season didn’t really have anything crazy or dramatic to talk about. It followed the usual progression of contestants leaving until it dwindled down to the final two women–Jen Schefft and Kirsten Buschbacher.

Firestone ultimately proposed to Jen during the season 3 finale, and couldn’t stop gushing over his love and affection towards her. It seemed like a fairytale in the making as he got down on one knee and popped a Harry Winston ring on Jen’s finger.

Yes, there was a time before Neil Lane was all the rage in Bachelor Nation.

"Jen, I love you. I think that we fit perfectly together and I look forward to a life of adventure, happiness, and family."

Even with all the amazing things going for Firestone’s season and a picture-perfect proposal, Andrew and Jen did not last and parted ways sometime after the season ended. Nearly 16 years later, Firestone is happily married to actress/model Ivana Bozilovic, and the couple has three kids together!
