The Bachelorette Season 16 finale: Worst moment: No After the Final Rose

The worst moment of the Bachelorette finale doesn’t necessarily count as a “moment” but rather a lack of one. Of course I am referring to the absence of an After the Final Rose live special!

I hate to complain, but this segment has always been, by far, my favorite moment of the season. We all have so many questions: How is Ben doing now? How are Tayshia and Zac? What have they all been doing these past few months?

Furthermore, some of the most iconic Bachelor moments have happened on the live after show, from the Nick Viall and Andi Dorfman scandal to the wonder that was Barb. So why didn’t we get it this season?

Obviously the ongoing pandemic had something to do with this choice, perhaps because production’s schedule was already messed with and ABC had no room. However, it’s hard to imagine the franchise wouldn’t have done everything they could to secure the spot.

Another possibility is that the final contestants and Tayshia didn’t want to have to quarantine again. But couldn’t everyone have participated virtually?

If there couldn’t be an After the Final Rose segment, I at least wanted a more traditional finale format, with Chris Harrison checking in with the audience regularly. His priceless commentary really makes a finale feel official, but he was barely present in this finale!

Here’s hoping the franchise sees and hears the wishes of fans and gives us a full live after show next season!

All in all, a great end to a very unique season of The Bachelorette!
