Top 3: The Bachelorette Season 16, Episode 9 rankings
Hometowns are on the horizon and the feelings are becoming so much more real with this week’s episode of The Bachelorette Season 16.
The Bachelorette Season 16 started things off this week with the continuation of the Noah vs Bennett saga, got intimate with the Ben one-on-one date, and had hard truths revealed on the group date.
But with a rocky start and even rockier revelations, who made our top three this week?
#1: Ben
With the first one-on-one date of the week and a fun day date that took an emotional turn in the evening, Ben won over not only the heart of Bachelor Nation, and earned some serious Tayshia points along the way, but also wins the top spot in our power rankings.
Ben has been a personal favorite of mine for most of the season, but he really pushed his limits and opened up more than anyone expected during his alone time with our Bachelorette. Sweetheart Ben revealed to Tayshia that he had struggled with suicide and had made two fairly recent attempts at taking his own life. He continued saying that his sister, who saved his life in more ways than one, was unaware of these attempts and would be finding out on television once the show aired.
Tayshia was very supportive in learning about Ben’s hardship and was blown away by his willingness to share such a personal story with her and Bachelor Nation. It is not often that this topic is brought to light and discussed so openly and I think we can call commend Ben for how he handled the conversation. Our boy received the rose and I have no doubts that he is definitely making it to hometowns. Ben, we are so happy to have you on our TV screens.
#2: Zac C.
The group date this week on The Bachelorette Season 16 involved a lot of truth bombs revealed from the lie detector test and one of the more serious discoveries came from our second place power ranked man, Zac C.
Zac boldly faced the lie detector and stared into Tayshia’s eyes as he told her flat out that he had cheated in a previous relationship. Naturally, Tayshia was upset by this as she considers cheating a deal-breaker. Luckily, at the cocktail party that evening Zac cleared everything up and his relationship transgression actually occurred when he was in 6th grade at the Bowl-A-Rama and was nothing more than a French kiss.
Tayshia was giggling like a school girl once she learned the truth and was happy to let her feelings for Zac to remain untainted. Zac is another one to watch and I think he easily makes it to hometowns.
#3: Riley
The final placing this week goes to the other guy who had hardships revealed thanks to the lie detector test. Riley, who was formerly known as Dwayne, takes our third place in the power rankings.
Everyone was shocked when the lie detector claimed that Riley was lying during the baseline test of asking him to confirm his name. Once again during the cocktail party, Tayshia got to the bottom of things as Riley broke down in tears about his past and why he had in fact changed his name.
Tayshia was moved by his ability to open up about his parents’ messy divorce and these two definitely got closer during the emotional chat. Riley, I’m proud of you for letting those walls down!
Next week we have a double feature with back to back nights of The Bachelorette Season 16 content!
