Was Zac’s cheating story on The Bachelorette true? Someone from his hometown weighs in

Was Zac’s cheating story from last night’s episode of The Bachelorette true? Or is Tayshia Adams gullible for believing him? Some fans suspect she’s being naive about this one. And many people online say it’s pretty obvious that Zac could not be telling the whole truth, even if his confession happens to be a true story.
In case you missed it, Tayshia decided it was time to take her relationships to the next level. In other words, she and temporary host
administered a lie detector test during a group date. Naturally, some unexpected information came out about one of the contestants. Or rather, he came clean instead of getting caught in a lie.
Hooked up to the lie detector machine, Zac revealed he had cheated before. The light turned green to confirm he was telling the truth. But while he might’ve been honest, Tayshia found that fact to be very upsetting. The season 16 Bachelorette was alarmed after Zac’s confession, in part because cheating had been an issue with her ex-husband.
During the cocktail party for the group date, however, Zac confessed something else. He explained to Tayshia that he was in sixth grade when the cheating incident happened. Allegedly, his moment of weakness happened at a bowling alley.
Rather quickly, Tayshia and Zac laughed it off together. Both of them seemed extremely relieved that it wasn’t as bad as Tayshia thought it might be. However, many fans believe she dropped the whole issue way too soon, noting that his follow-up explanation seemed too good to be true, especially since Tayshia clearly thought it the worst case scenario.
Naturally, some took to Twitter to let it be known they thought Tayshia might’ve let Zac off the hook too easily.
Shown in a post on Reddit, however, someone claiming to be from the contestant’s hometown corroborated Zac’s cheating explanation. The Reddit user shared a screenshot of a tweet, which you can see below.
“Also, Zac described a situation from 6th grade that I totally remember happening,” the undisclosed person from New Jersey wrote. “It was very dramatic.”
Still, some on Reddit noted that the bowling alley cheating scandal doesn’t prove he didn’t cheat down the road, and as an adult. And many fans responded with, “once a cheater always a cheater.” You can see the full thread here.
Is Tayshia “so gullible” when it comes to Zac? Or is Zac simply telling the full truth with this one? Only time will tell. But if it turns out Zac is hiding something else (like a history of cheating in his past), I’m sure we will find out eventually.
