The Bachelorette Season 16, Episode 5: Worst Moment(s): Grown-Ass Man

Sometimes something starts out as a joke in Bachelorette world, but is taken way too seriously by the end of the episode. The “grown-ass man” competition was clearly meant to be taken lightly—obviously, none of these activities (yes, I’m including the spelling of “limousine”) are actually meant to measure a man’s maturity.

However, drama will be drama. As the evening portion of the date progressed, it was clear the men were actually taking the phrase “grown-ass man” wayyyyy too seriously. I tried to count how many times it was said and quickly became overwhelmed. People were actually saying things like “that behavior doesn’t exemplify a grown-ass man.”

Even worse, the phrase spawned more cringeworthy phrases such as “I appreciate as a man that you’re coming at me.” What does that even mean???

By the end of the episode, I seriously did not know if the men were even aware the the “grown-ass man” description was even supposed to be a joke.

As such, I’m going ahead and naming each moment the phrase “grown-ass man” was uttered last night as the worst moment of the episode. I certainly hope nobody incorporated that into a drinking game!
