Tayshia Adams will take over as The Bachelorette following Clare Crawley’s exit, but let’s be honest: Tayshia deserves more than Clare’s rejected bachelors!
Season 16 of The Bachelorette will go down in Bachelor Nation history as one of the most polarizing and unique seasons of all-time.
Not only has the series been forced to adjust in many ways due to COVID-19 which has led to a delayed season and the introduction of filming within a quarantined Bachelorette bubble, but the season will also be the first in Bachelor history in which the lead prematurely departs the show after finding love at a much quicker pace than anticipated.
After falling head over heels for Dale Moss, Clare Crawley decides to choose love and her happiness over the show and walks away only episodes into the series. Rather than present fans with a condenced and less than fulfilling season, ABC is set to bring in a new Bachelorette to take over the reins from Clare. Enter fan-favorite Tayshia Adams, who first appeared as part of Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor.
Looking to step in as the season’s second Bachelorette, Tayshia’s journey will be unusual to say the least. While it’s rumored that ABC will introduce a few fresh faces into the group, it’s expected that Tayshia’s bachelor pool will primarily be made up of the remaining season 16 men who were left in limbo after Clare’s sudden departure. In other words, Tayshia’s bachelor pool will consist mainly of Clare’s rejected suitors.
ABC seems to be setting Tayshia Adams up for heartbreak on The Bachelorette
While we’re truly excited to see season 16’s bachelors finally get a true shot at sparking a connection and finding love with Tayshia, there’s no denying that Clare and Dale will be looming heavily on the remaining men — regardless of how many times they might try to convince us otherwise. And no, the men are not to blame.
Like every other individual who has joined The Bachelor or Bachelorette cast, season 16’s group of bachelors came into the season in hopes that they might find a true connection and walk away with a happy ending at the end of the season. For these men, that hope was tied to sparking a connection with Clare which is something we’ve seen the season’s bachelors try to do throughout the first episodes of season 16.

Sure thanks to Dale the other men of season 16 haven’t quite been able to spark quite as strong of a connection with Clare as they’ve hoped; however, it’s clear that those remaining have started to develop feelings for Clare. It’s why they’ve pushed back so hard against Dale and his monopolizing of Clare’s time.
Even though their journey has only just begun, these men have established varying levels of connections with Clare, and asking them to suddenly erase her from their memories and start the process over again immediately with Tayshia seems like a recipe for heartbreak, both for Tayshia and the remaining bachelors.
The Bachelorette Tayshia Adams deserves more than Clare Crawley’s rejected bachelors
In all honesty, there is no real easy workaround for ABC and they’re entering uncharted territory. As much as we’ve grown fond of the season 16 bachelors, it needs to be said that Tayshia deserves more than just Clare’s rejected bachelors.
She’s earned her right to come into a season with a fresh slate complete with men who have come into the season vying to connect and find love, not with a group of bachelors who are railing from rejection and who have just been put through the wringer by another Bachelorette. Tayshia deserves to headline her own season of the show and to begin her journey from the start with a fresh start, not by being brought in to help clean up the mess Clare left behind by exiting the show early.
Sure we understand why ABC didn’t simply show the remaining men to the door upon Clare’s departure, but we can’t help but to feel as though Tayshia is being cheated. After all, how are these men supposed to open up themselves wholeheartedly to a new Bachelorette after being scorn by Clare?
We have absolutely no doubt that Tayshia will turn this season around and are thrilled to see what it holds for her in her journey. We just wish ABC would have given her the chance to step into the role of The Bachelorette the right way.
