I think we can all agree at this point that Clare Crawley’s date with Zach J. during this week‘s episode of The Bachelorette was extremely awkward, to say the very least. Things turned from bad to worse very quickly, leaving viewers at home confused and cringing. If you missed the moment, I’ll break down what went down.

Clare and Zach J. went on their one-on-one date to the spa, where the two got pedicures and beauty treatments. Right off the bat, things were a little off, as Zach was clearly pretty uncomfortable getting his feet touched and Clare seemed a bit judgmental about it.

In a voice-over, Clare said she originally thought her date had good energy, but now she could tell he was super nervous, which apparently made her feel uncomfortable.

Fast forward to them in the pool, and

things took a turn

. They were super awkward together, and then when Clare went to leave to get ready for their dinner date, she leaned in to kiss Zach. It was hard to tell what exactly went wrong, but Zach’s hesitation to lean into Clare back made her think he didn’t want to kiss her.

Quickly, Zach tried to explain himself, saying he did want to kiss her, but he messed up when grabbing Clare’s arm and not letting go. Clare was clearly uncomfortable and tried to walk away, but Zach grabbed her again. It didn’t seem like he had bad intentions, but it was a definite no-no for Clare.

Clare was clearly triggered, and skipped out on their dinner date. Instead, Chris Harrison showed up to tell Zach J. that he’d be going home.

Viewers on Twitter were shocked at the whole situation, and it appears Zach has thoughts of his own he’s now making known on social media. As discovered by an eagle-eyed fan on Reddit, this former contestant is liking tweets that fully drag Clare. So rude!

Among the tweets Zach hit the like button on include, “Just House full of guys who underwhelmed with her, and her sassy middle aged battered single woman attitude doesn’t help,” and “She’s literally the worst bachelorette!!! I said it.” Yikes.

Zach also liked a bunch of tweets calling for “Justice for Zach J.”

Clearly, Zach is salty he was sent home. But to like tweets about Clare being “middle aged” and more nasty things is totally uncalled for. I expected more from this guy, did you?
